Tattoo Story Sessions

For pieces with deep meaning. Not just ones that photograph well.

I help artists and shops document meaningful sessions as they unfold, so they leave with honest images, real quotes, and content rooted in something real.

Not just another photo dump

These sessions are built to capture the full weight of the moment, not just the final tattoo.I document the process, the atmosphere, and the story as it unfolds, so the artist and shop leave with honest images, real quotes, and content they can actually use later. You walk away with:
• documentary-style images from the session
• real quotes and story notes from the client conversation• content rooted in the meaning behind the piece• something useful to post later, without scrambling to write it from memory

Best for sessions like

  • memorial pieces

  • first tattoos

  • cover-ups with a story

  • milestone tattoos

  • matching tattoos with personal meaning

  • identity or life-transition pieces

How It Works:

Option 1: Session Coverage

For shops or artists who want meaningful sessions documented visually, without client interviews or story development.

Starting at $200

1. The shop or artist identifies a meaningful sessionA memorial piece, first tattoo, cover-ups with a story, milestone, or any appointment worth documenting more intentionally.2. I show up and document the session.I stay out of the way and capture the process, atmosphere, and interaction in the room as it happens.3. The shop receives a galleryAfterward, the shop gets a password-protected gallery of web-ready images they can use for Instagram, blog features, or marketing.Best for:
• Shops that want simple coverage
• Artists who do not want extra client interaction• Sessions where the visual story is enough

Option 2: Single Story Session

For shops or artists who want the meaning behind the piece documented too, not just the session itself.

Starting at $300

1. The shop or artist identifies a story-rich sessionA memorial piece, first tattoo, cover-ups with a story, milestone, or any appointment with real emotional weight behind it.2. I connect with the client before the session.I gather the story, context, and details the artist usually does not have time to capture during the appointment.3. I document the session quietly, as it happensI stay out of the way and capture the process, atmosphere, and human story in the room.4. The shop receives the gallery and story contentAfterward, the shop gets a password-protected gallery plus quotes, notes, and story-driven content they can actually use.Best for:
• Shops that want to feature stories on Instagram or a blog
• Artists with clients who have meaningful backstories• Sessions where the story matters as much as the finished piece

Option 3: Story Block

For shops or artists who want to batch multiple meaningful sessions in one visit and get a stronger bank of story-driven content.

Starting at $750

1. The shop or artists identify multiple story-rich sessionsWe map out the timing, who is being featured, and which stories make the most sense to document that day.2. We plan the block around the selected sessionsI gather the story, context, and details the artist usually does not have time to capture during the appointment..3. I document each session as it unfoldsI move quietly between appointments, capturing the process, atmosphere, and emotional context without turning the day into a whole production.4. The shop receives a content-ready story setAfterward, the shop receives separate galleries and story-driven content for each featured session, giving them a stronger batch of visuals and stories to use over time.Best for:

Meet the Artist | Marcia G.

I’m a documentary-style photographer drawn to meaning, memory, and the stories people carry into a room with them.I only have one tattoo, yes, technically a tramp stamp, and in my family tattoos were never supposed to be random. They had to mean something. That’s probably why this work makes sense to me.I’m not here for generic chair shots or staged content somebody could grab on a phone.I’m here to document the story behind the piece, the atmosphere in the room, and the details that make the session feel real.x
